The Journey of the Aw Sisters, Michelle and Christine
Michelle and Christine Aw were raised in the quaint town of Kampong Langkap in Malaysia, where their grandparents settled after moving from China. They both attended university in Malaysia and excelled in accounting, their initial job title when they relocated to Queens. However, they soon shifted their focus to the culinary world as they moved up to the Hudson Valley area of Upstate New York.
Before opening Asia, the sisters owned Kingston Wok as their first business for nine years. Kingston Wok continues to delight customers today with its famous Asian Fusion cuisine on Ulster Avenue. That said, Michelle and Christine had their sites set on something bigger. When the opportunity arose to purchase a charming building near Main Street in Stone Ridge (Formerly the French Corner), the sisters realized their dream of opening a new restaurant. Named simply Asia, this Pan-Asian bistro fulfills its vision by staying true to its values of fresh food, customer service, and community. Today, Asia proudly offers a wide range of Chinese favorites, such as sushi, sashimi, Thai dishes, Japanese specialties, and a fully stocked bar.

You’ll find more than 100 dishes here on our menu, not counting the sushi and sashimi choices. At Asia Restaurant, you can enjoy a variety of popular dishes, including lo mein, chow mein, Szechuan-style options, and the ever-popular General Tso’s chicken, which is made with authentic chicken. Crispy red snapper with sweet and sour chili sauce and crispy boneless duck with fresh mango sauce are some of our tempting specialties. You can find unique drinks at our well-stocked bar. Be sure to sample the delicious Thai basil garlic ginger sauce. Asia also serves up Chinese, curry, sushi, Thai, Asian fusion specials, and unique cocktails. The menu features delicacies from the East, such as crispy red snapper filet with Thai chili sauce, Korean-style spicy chili soft tofu, and fresh sushi specials to please any palate. Be sure to try their Thai young coconut juice, Mai Tai, or lychee martini, and don’t pass up their house-made dumplings.
